Limited Exhibition at Museu Casa Grau, Bogotá, Colombia

Dahlia Dreszer's exhibition at Museu Casa Grau presents 11 pieces from two interconnected projects: "Invisible Cities" and "Bringing the Outside In." This limited-time showcase, running from October 3 to 15, 2024, offers a unique exploration of identity, cultural fusion, and the malleability of societal norms.

In "Invisible Cities," Dreszer attempts to free the mind towards the unconventional by creating new spaces that ignite our imagination and dreams. Dreszer examines the sense of cultural ambiguity and richness of identity by layering original photographs, mixing elements from the man-made world, and finding connections throughout each.    Dreszer invites the viewer to think deeply about the fluidity of identity, the malleability of societal norms, and the beauty found in accepting the unconventional. Each composite, aims to relate to an existing lived experience yet to be had.

"Bringing the Outside In", incorporates printed pieces from the "Invisible Cities" into carefully crafted still life's, using objects, textiles, and unique artifacts that represent diverse cultures and societies. This creates a world within a world within a world, further exploring the layers of our interconnected global community. Exploration of identity and self-expression, capturing the strength, vulnerability, and resilience of the human spirit.

The viewer is invited to embark on a journey of discovery, encouraged to look beyond the surface and explore the complex narratives woven into each image. The more one looks, the more one sees.
